Emergence of “Center Right Nation” Narrative

The pundits, right and otherwise, have been talking up this idea that we are still, despite the election of Obama, and the overall national repudiation of all things Republican, a “center right” nation. 

One idea of which is, Obama better not “over reach” with his agenda.  Or, put another way, don’t even try to achieve what you’ve promised on the campaign trail.  We’ll have no stomach for it.  No tolerance.  It’ll be your undoing.

Well, it’s obvious to anyone who has looked at the election outcome (maybe anyone outside of Oklahoma, a state in which not a single county turned from RED to BLUE, and yet McCain actually polled 47 votes fewer than did Bush in 2004, despite beating Obama handily), that we are not a “center right” nation – not by a long shot.

But, you know the traditional media; just say it over and over and over again, and some numbers of the populace will begin to believe it.
